AEI Perego: "ceppo motorizzato" - Hospital
"San Raffaele"
The bell of the Hospital “San Raffaele”
in Milan has a diameter of cm. 203 and a weight
of Kg. 5140.
In june of 2002, we installed this bell before
the main front of the Institute, on a steel structure
wich reminds the cupola of the Saint Peter Cathedral
in Rome. This structure has been planned and realized
by us, has an height of metres 17, a diameter
of metres 15 and a weight of over 60 tons.
The automation is realized thought the “Ceppo
Motorizzato”, our exclusive patent, wich
allows the movement of the bell without external
wheels and motors.

AEI Perego: Restoration
of La Scala clock
The renowned Teatro alla Scala in Milan celebrates its
reopening on 7 December after a three-year reconstruction
period. A.E.I. will be there on this day. The previously
stopped La Scala clock once again shows the precise time.
The la Scala clock high above the stage, wich was brought
to standstill when it was struck by lightning, will again
display the precise time to the audience – thanks
to the initiative of A.E.I..
The clock was thoroughly overhauled and repaired in a
specialist workshop.
The restoration has interested both the rest and the kinematical
parts, which has been disassembled and overhauled one
by one.
Moreover has been realized a new automation system based
on an electronic device which moves the two wheels of
hours and minutes.
Finally has been installed a programmable lightning system
according to show time-table.
After all, the celebrated Milan Opera House has served
as a cultural seismograph for more than 200 years. This
house has seen a continuous stream of celebrity conductors
and great singers. Enrico Caruso, Luciano Pavarotti or
Maria Callas recall unforgettable moments, and Arturo
Toscanini, Victor de Sabata or Claudio Abbado ensured
the sublime musical quality of La Scala. And because quality
and precision are a tradition at A.E.I., we highly honoured
by this opportunity to support what is probably the most
famous opera house in the world.
